Everyday Makeup Tutorial with Lauren Andersen | Avon and the Nude Look

Hey Ladies,

This is Erin "Blue Butterfly" Nickelson. I have not submitted any posts for quite some time but I have been busy. Lately, I have been watching make-up tutorial videos and I have been on Alison.com taking make-up and fashion courses. I have completed anything but I did want to share with you what I have learned. Lauren Andersen demonstrates what she calls an everyday look but it's also another look called the nude look.

Today I want to talk about the Nude Look. My husband kept getting on me for wearing makeup. He thought that all make isn't supposed to be noticeable. I told him that no that wasn't the case. So, I wanted to wear makeup that he enjoyed so as I studied makeup the Nude look came up. Would this work for you? Why or Why Not?

I will have a list of links of all the products I recommend at the bottom.

Before we get started it's important to have a cleansed and moisturized face and neck before applying makeup.

This look is minimal and getting the eyes correct is important. This looks best for women with dark hair.Recommended colors are yellow based browns, oranges, sand based browns, and pink based light browns.

To Start:

Use a primer to tone down redness of skin. Assuming you need it. Avon sells
fmg Match Prime Face Perfector. I use it all the time and I love how the redness tones down when I use it. Other people might need something green to get rid of redness. The fmg Match Wand Coloring correcting stick comes in green (pistachio), tan (gelato) and red (sherbert).

Eyes:

I recently learned that addressing the eyes first helps because then you won't be as likely to get eye makeup on your foundation. This is really a matter of preference. Some insist of eyes first and the rest the others say otherwise. There is no right or wrong here.

First apply concealer on the eye area. This includes underneath the eye. Next use powder on the eye area but do not use too much as it will create creases or make them worse. After that put on your eye shadow primer to make the color stand out more and last longer.

For this look you need matte-finish eye shadow. Just along the lash line apply brown or medium brown. Blending it into the upper part of the eye lid come next.White eye liner should be used with some eye shadow on the bottom lash line. I have the fmg glimmer diamonds eyeliner in the shade of sterling.

Take a small amount of brown eye shadow and swipe across the eye-lids and use deep brown mascara.

Face:

It is recommended that a light amount of liquid foundation is used, a nude lipstick color and a peachy blush.

And that's how you do the nude look. I hope you've enjoyed it. Look out for some more posts.

Thanks,

Erin Nickelson
